1 injured, DUI investigation underway after crash in Fresno, police say

The two-vehicle crash happened at Chestnut and Home avenues.

One person was hospitalized Monday following a two-vehicle crash in central Fresno.

Officers responded around 5:30 p.m. to the intersection of Chestnut and Home avenues, near McKinley Avenue, where they found a PG&E utility pole that had been sheared off.

A black vehicle had crashed into a tree, while a white truck struck a curb and knocked down a sign.

Police said one driver suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital. The driver is also being evaluated for possible DUI.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
