President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump last met on the sidelines of the NATO summit held in Ankara on July 7–8.
During the meeting, the US president made several positive remarks about Ukraine, saying the country has a great future. Trump also emphasized that he and Zelenskyy have a good relationship.
The US leader also said that Ukraine's long-range strikes on Russia represent an escalation that could bring the war to an end.

Earlier today, July 22, Zelenskyy also held talks with US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The main topic of discussion was the possibility of resuming negotiations aimed at ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
