You've been saying Scarlett Johansson's name wrong this entire time

Quick: Say Scarlett Johansson's name out loud right now. How did you pronounce it? Did you say the "J" out loud, like "Jo"?

Well, guess what: You've been saying Scarlett's last name wrong this entire time. (Maybe you've been saying her first name wrong too, but I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt there.)

During a Q&A session on the set of Pop Culture Jeopardy, host Colin Jost — who, as you know, is married to Scarlett — fielded a question from an audience member who was genuinely curious how to pronounce his wife's last name.

"I don't know, I've never met her in person yet," Colin joked. "I want to hear how she says it."

Colin went on to say that he personally pronounces Scarlett's last name the way we all (presumably) do — with the hard "J" in the first syllable. "I don't say it really ever," he joked. "Yo, Johansson! Why is the fridge empty?"

Then, Colin offered a serious answer to the audience member's question, pointing out that Scarlett's last name is of Danish origin — meaning that the "J" should be pronounced as a "Y," which would lead one to correctly pronounce her last name as "Yo-hanssen."

But wait — there's more! "I was probably Yo-st in Germany," he went on to say, "But that's long forgotten."

If you think this story didn't have enough curveballs, the audience member then asked Colin — very randomly, I might add! — if he's "still friends" with "Weekend Update" co-host Michael Che.

"I didn't say you could have a second question," Colin deadpanned.

Suffice to say, commenters loved the funny little moment:

"I think they're the cutest couple," one person said of Colin and Scarlett, adding that they're "Rooting for them."

Another person attempted a portmanteau of Colin and Scarlett's last names — which, sure, why not:

But it's this comment specifically that takes the cake: "It was originally pronounced yeopardy." Hey, I wish I thought of that one!
