The team behind Wreckreation has announced Wreckreation 2, while also revealing the launch of a new studio, When Tides Turn, which will now lead development of the game. Wreckreation originally began at Three Fields Entertainment, but the developers say the same team remains in place as the project moves to its new home under a studio they fully own.

Set in the open world of Heartbreak City, Wreckreation 2 puts the focus on fast, aggressive racing where every shortcut, collision, and takedown can change the outcome of a race. Success isn’t just about driving the perfect line. Players will need to read traffic, react to opponents, time their attacks, and take risks as they battle through city streets, freeways, airport runways, dockyards and hidden backroads filled with alternate routes.

The game features a variety of event types, including traditional races, Road Rage, Marked Man, Pursuits, Blackspots, Wreckonings and Eliminators. Players can also discover events while exploring the world or create and share their own through the Live Mix feature.

Fans can wishlist Wreckreation 2 on Steam, while PC players who meet the current minimum requirements can also sign up for the early playtest program. For now, testing is limited to PC, though the team says that doesn’t reflect its plans for other platforms.
