Gearing up for what is bound to be a crucial step in the franchise, EA Sports just revealed the cover for EA FC 27‘s Ultimate Edition, this time featuring Real Madrid’s superstar and France’s lead man, Kylian Mbappé, as its star. This will be Mbappé’s fourth cover overall, as well as his first since FIFA 23. He also continues Real Madrid’s streak of back-to-back representatives, following Jude Bellingham.
Along with the announcement, developers said the game’s first trailer will be broadcast live on July 23, 2026, exclusively on YouTube. If the reveal follows EA’s usual MO, pre-orders are likely to kick off following it.
The reveal can be seen as a crown jewel on Mbappé’s phenomenal individual year, which, although lacking silverware, saw the number 10 lead his nation to a 4th-place finish in the 2026 World Cup, as well as claim the title of the competition’s all-time top scorer over Lionel Messi. He also shone for Real Madrid as both the La Liga and Champions League 2024/25 Golden Boot winner. When speaking about the decision, Jeff Sharma, EA Sports’ Vice President of Franchise Strategy and Marketing, had the following to say, as reported by IGN Middle East.
“Kylian’s achievements for both club and country have established him as one of the defining players of his generation. He embodies the ambition, creativity and global appeal that defines EA SPORTS FC today, and we’re proud to continue our partnership with him as he returns to lead EA SPORTS FC 27.”

It is still unknown if the Los Blancos number 10 will share the spotlight with any peer for the EA FC 27 standard covers. The game’s pre-order and Ultimate Edition bonuses, however, were seemingly leaked a day before the reveal, as you can see here.
