Marina Mabrey received her fourth technical foul of the WNBA season.

Marina Mabrey's Monday night started off on a good note. Before the Toronto Tempo faced the Las Vegas Aces, the team honored her as the franchise's first-ever WNBA All-Star. The 29-year-old was selected as a reserve for the 2026 All-Star Game amid a season in which she's averaging roughly 21 points, three assists and four rebounds.

Unfortunately, by the end of the night, Mabrey was hit by the double whammy of a WNBA rule violation and a blowout loss.

The Aces easily defeated the Tempo 109-83. Five players scored in double figures for Las Vegas, with A'ja Wilson and Jackie Young combining for 50 points.

For the Tempo, Mabrey was limited to 14 points on 5-of-21 shooting. Isabelle Harrison exploded for 26 points to lead Toronto, but she didn't get enough help.

As mentioned, Mabrey was also assessed with a violation. A game official issued her a technical foul with 6:05 left in the third quarter after she complained about a no-call.

Prior to the tech, Mabrey attacked the basket and missed a layup, but she felt she was fouled on the play. While Harrison was able to recover the miss and make the putback layup, the star guard was frustrated over the no-call.

As the Aces inbounded the ball, Mabrey proceeded to foul Chelsea Gray. She then kept complaining to the referee, prompting the tech.

It was Mabrey's fourth tech of the season, which warrants a higher fine. The first three technical fouls each carry a $500 fine, while the fourth through seventh are punishable by a $1,000 fine each.

Once a player reaches eighth technical fouls, they will be fined $1,500 and be suspended for one game. Every other tech after that carries a one-game suspension as well.

Since Mabrey is the Tempo's best player, Toronto will certainly need her to avoid getting any more technical fouls. The team is 10-16 on the season but is still in contention for a playoff spot.
