WNBA refs somehow missed Caitlin Clark getting smacked in face

WNBA officials somehow missed Indiana Fever superstar guard Caitlin Clark get slapped in the face by New York Liberty superstar forward Breanna Stewart and didn't call a foul on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

As Clark went up for a layup, Stewart blocked the shot and smacked Clark across the face right after. While the contact didn't look intentional, a referee seemed to watch it happen on the replay without calling a foul.

This is the kind of bad officiating that has turned the league's referee pool into one of the biggest controversies in all of professional sports. How in the world did that one official in particular miss this foul on Stewart?

In the same game where Clark picked up her sixth tech of the season, the refs missed a possible Flagrant 1 foul on Stewart that could have been a big swing in the game.

We're a bit stunned by this. The contact is clear and unnecessary; the call just never materializes.
