  • They share two children
  • Jonas has adopted part of Hansen’s last name

Two-time Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard has had his wife, Trine Hansen, by his side through life’s ups and downs.

After meeting through cycling, the two welcomed their daughter, Frida, in September 2020. They married in 2023 and grew their family once again with a son, who was born in 2024.

Though Hansen is relatively private, Vingegaard doesn’t shy away from showing just how much he cares about his wife.

“The support from my two girls at home means everything to me - couldn’t do this without you ❤️,” Vingegaard wrote in a March 2021 Instagram post, referring to Hansen and their daughter.

On July 19, Vingegaard’s 2026 Tour de France ended with a crash in which he sustained a fractured collarbone and multiple abrasions, according to the Associated Press.

So, who is Jonas Vingegaard’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Trine Hansen.

She is a talent manager

Hansen has a career related to professional cycling of her own. A former competitive rower, she now works as a talent manager, per Vogue. The two met while he was riding for his former team Coloquick in Denmark and Hansen was the team’s marketing manager, according to Cycling Weekly.

Hansen helps manage her husband’s career. As she told the Danish newspaper Politiken in July 2025, “Jonas focuses on cycling and training. I take care of everything else.”

She developed an app

In May 2026, Hansen launched mypreffy, a recommendation app designed to help users discover places and experiences through trusted personal suggestions rather than anonymous reviews.

According to the app’s Instagram, mypreffy lets users find “real, personal recommendations from people who get you,” replacing traditional star ratings with curated suggestions for everything from hidden gems to travel destinations. After its launch, Vingegaard celebrated the milestone on Instagram.

“So proud of Trine who just launched her new recommendation app @mypreffy,” he wrote. “It is really extraordinary to make such a great app while having the kids at home at all times and always supporting me, wherever I go! I’m so happy for you my love - you are a great inspiration to me ❤️.”

Vingegaard and Hansen welcomed their first child, daughter Frida, in September 2020.

“On Tuesday September 8th, this little fantastic girl Frida came to the world ❤️,” Vingegaard wrote on Instagram while announcing the news. “Definitely my biggest accomplishment, and I am so proud of both Frida and Trine 👶🏼❤️.”

The two went on to marry in 2023, Vingegaard confirmed to TV 2 Sport (via the Danish news site Avisen). Vingegaard and Hansen later expanded their family with a son, who was born in 2024.

“It is of course different to be the father of two than to be the father of one. There is a little more work in it, but it is also fantastic,” the athlete told Danish reporters in November 2024, per Cycling Up to Date. “We are insanely happy to have two children now.”

Vingegaard has been open about how much his family’s support means to him throughout his career. In May 2026, he shared a video on Instagram of him celebrating after winning the Giro d’Italia with Hansen and his children with the caption, “Having my family here brings tears to my eyes. They’ve always been there for me.”

Vingegaard raised eyebrows in early 2024 when fans noticed a change on the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)’s rider roster. Rather than competing under the name Jonas Vingegaard Rasmussen, the two-time champion was listed as Jonas Vingegaard Hansen.

The change also meant Vingegaard dropped “Rasmussen,” his father’s surname, while keeping “Vingegaard,” which came from his mother, Karina Vingegaard Rasmussen, per Bicycling.

She’s commented on her husband’s training schedule

Hansen made headlines during the 2025 Tour de France when she publicly commented on the demands placed on her husband as an athlete.

Speaking to Politiken, Hansen said Vingegaard’s schedule was “squeezing the lemon too much,” noting that the constant travel and altitude training camps left him with too little time to recover at home with his family.

“It starts in February and it’s back and forth every other week … It’s a really tough life,” she said. “Jonas doesn’t recharge when he’s on another three-week altitude training camp with the team. He really needs to be with us at home in Denmark to do that.”
