Both FIFA and Spain cropped Donald Trump out of their images posted to social media of the national team lifting the World Cup, with the White House's social media team quickly adding him back in.
Spain won the World Cup after defeating Lionel Messi and Argentina in the final, with Trump given the role of handing over the medals and presenting the trophy to the team. Trump remained on the podium as Spain lifted the trophy, before eventually being ushered away by Gianni Infantino to leave them to celebrate, with a number of photos of him with the team.
Spain cropped out Trump when posting photos of the trophy lift and, interestingly, FIFA did the same. They had also cropped out Infantino.

However, the White House has since responded with a post of their own, posting a number of images of Trump with the Spanish team as well as a video on Instagram.
Trump is the only person in focus in two of the photos posted.
It was the second time in which Trump has handed over a soccer trophy to a team in the last 12 months, having done so with Chelsea at the Club World Cup final in the same stadium a year ago.
Presenters and commentators on a number of broadcasts had commented on Trump lingering around the podium before eventually being led away - coming after he was booed when walking on to the field.
However, some of the Spanish players appeared to enjoy meeting Trump, with some doing the 'Trump dance' as he got on to the podium with them.
Speaking after the game and on the tournament played across north America, Trump said: "They both played well. I would say Spain played better. It was very exciting. It looked like Spain dominated but it was a very close match.
"[The World Cup] is one of the greatest events of any kind. We are really happy it did so well.
"People have come from all over the world and loved our country. We have showed our country in a different light and it was a great thing."
