Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s youngest daughter has filed to legally remove “Pitt” from her surname. Find out why she’s seeking the legal name change.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s children have largely stayed out of the spotlight, but in recent years, several have made headlines for distancing themselves from their father’s last name. The latest is the former couple‘s youngest daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, who filed a petition in July 2026 to legally change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, citing “personal” reasons in court documents. A hearing on her request is scheduled for November 2, 2026.
Vivienne’s filing follows similar steps taken by several of her siblings and comes nearly two years after Brad and Angelina finalized their divorce in December 2024. She had already begun using the name “Vivienne Jolie” publicly, including in the Playbill for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Outsiders, which she helped produce alongside her mother.
Below, learn why Vivienne is changing her name, which of her siblings have also dropped “Pitt” from their surnames, and what we know about Brad’s relationship with his children today.

Does Brad Pitt Still See His Children?
Brad has remained largely private about his relationships with his six children and has not publicly commented on their recent name change petitions.
Since finalizing his divorce from Angelina in December 2024, the Oscar winner has instead kept the focus on his career and his relationship with girlfriend Ines de Ramon, a jewelry executive whom he has been dating since 2022. Brad and Ines have a 29-year age gap, but the couple have continued to grow closer, making several public appearances together, including attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s wedding, where they also made their relationship Instagram official. Sources have described their relationship as serious, with Ines reportedly having moved into Brad’s home in 2025.
While the exact status of Brad’s relationships with his children is not publicly known, multiple reports over the years have indicated that he has become estranged from several of them following his and Angelina’s 2016 separation. Neither Brad nor his children have publicly discussed those relationships in detail.
