Boxer Duke Kilroy’s career is upended after his brother’s death. After his imprisonment, he spends the next chapter seeking revenge.
The violence in the ring is only the tip of the iceberg. Fightland, executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, introduces television viewers to a vengeful boxing story. Coming to STARZ and Sky Atlantic this summer, the crime drama series follows a boxer whose career and life are turned upside down when he seeks revenge for his late brother’s death.
Below, Hollywood Life breaks down the new show, from the cast to where you can start watching all new episodes.
What Is Fightland About?
According to an official description from the show, British Boxer Duke Kilroy becomes the heavyweight champion of the world on the same night that “a vicious assault leaves his brother, Calvin, dead, which causes Duke to snap, and results in him spending eight years in a U.S. prison.”
“Upon his release, and after having made a sinister discovery, Duke returns home seeking vengeance against the man he believes set him up — the criminal kingpin and former promoter, Kingsley Marshall,” the description reads. “But Kingsley has vanished, leaving his children and wife, Joy (who happens to be the love of Duke’s life), to pick up the pieces.”
Duke starts working with a London cartel, commencing the “high-risk game of infiltrating Kingsley’s empire to destroy it from within and smoke out his enemy. But amidst a volatile criminal landscape, and competing influences threatening to pull him off course, Duke will need to channel everything that made him a champion fighter into his bloody pursuit to win the ultimate victory — revenge for his brother.”
