A drone attack was reported in Russia's Saratov Oblast on July 16.

The strike reportedly sparked a fire at an airfield in Engels.

Engels has been targeted repeatedly because it hosts Russian strategic bombers used to launch strikes on Ukraine.

As of the morning of July 17, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported that Russia had lost 437 aircraft since the start of its full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022.
