Tyreek Hill was once one of the best wide receivers in all of the NFL, and he may have been the very best in the league at taking any play and turning it into a home run. However, Hill has been on the decline in recent years as age catches up to him, and that slide got accelerated last season.

During a game against the New York Jets early in the 2025 season, Hill suffered a severe knee dislocation in one of the most gruesome injuries of the season. He was carted off of the field and missed the rest of the season.

The Dolphins released Hill in a cap-saving move this offseason, and he is still a free agent while waiting to sign with a new team. In the meantime, he has been rehabbing his knee injury while waiting for a new team to come calling. On Wednesday, Hill posted some footage of him rehabbing the injury with some intense workouts, shared by David Furones of the Sun Sentinel.

At this point, it’s not even clear if Hill will be ready to play at any point in the 2026 season. The traditional timetable for a full knee dislocation would put him out for most, if not all of the 2026 season, so it makes sense that teams are hesitant to bring Hill in at this point.

Hill had the best statistical season of his career in his second season with Miami in 2023, leading the league in both receiving yards (1,799) and receiving touchdowns (13). However, he fell just short of the 1,000-yard mark despite playing in all 17 games in 2024, and he had just 265 yards in four games in 2026 before going down with the injury.

If Hill gets back to 100%, there is no question that he can provide a speedy weapon for an offense that opposing defenses will have to take note of. However, it is likely a bridge too far to expect him to come back and be the focal point of a passing game given his age and the nature of his injury.
