Tom Holland made the comment while appearing on the U.K.-based podcast 'Dish'.

Tom Holland is referring to Zendaya as his “wife” in a new interview, a month after he appeared to confirm that the couple had privately married.

During an appearance on the U.K.-based podcast “Dish,” hosted by DJ Nick Grimshaw and chef Angela Hartnett, Holland was asked during a question round which person he would want to take on a holiday to Greece.

"I think probably my wife would be pretty good," Holland said.

The "Spider-Man" actor then joked that it would be unusual for him to choose someone else, adding, “It would be a bit strange if I went, 'Sorry babe, I’m gonna take Matt [Damon, who stars in ‘The Odyssey’ alongside Holland and Zendaya] actually.'"

Grimshaw responded by joking about spending 10 days in Mykonos with Damon.

Holland’s comment comes after he appeared to confirm in June that he and Zendaya had tied the knot. In an Esquire profile published June 16, Holland discussed AI-generated images that falsely appeared to show the couple’s wedding.

When Esquire asked whether he had to send messages to family members after the images circulated, Holland paused before responding, “No, because they were all there.”

The response appeared to confirm that the couple held a private wedding ceremony with family members in attendance. Holland declined to share additional details, telling the publication, "That’s all you’ll get on that."

Holland continues to discuss Zendaya while promoting ‘The Odyssey’

This is not the first time Holland has mentioned Zendaya while promoting Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film "The Odyssey," which stars both actors.

During an interview with PEOPLE alongside Nolan, Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway, Holland recalled discussing the opportunity to join the film with Zendaya before accepting the role of Telemachus, the son of Damon’s Odysseus and Hathaway’s Penelope.

"I sat down with Z and was like, ‘I’ve been offered this movie,'" Holland said. After Zendaya asked who directed it, Holland said he told her, "It’s the big one," referring to Nolan.

Holland said Zendaya encouraged him to take the role, joking that she would leave him if he turned down a Nolan project.

"I’ll leave you if you don’t do ‘The Odyssey,’" Holland recalled her saying.

Holland also joked about his relationship with Zendaya during a July interview with Wired.

While answering a question about Zendaya’s character Athena and whether she had a romantic connection with Damon’s Odysseus, Holland responded: “No, because she’s married to me.”

Damon laughed and replied, "Yep. Good answer."

Later in the interview, Damon said Athena teaches Holland’s character about "true love," and Holland agreed.

Holland and Zendaya's romance on and offscreen

Holland and Zendaya met while filming the 2017 Marvel film “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” where they played Peter Parker and MJ. Their relationship was publicly confirmed in 2021.

After appearing together in "The Odyssey," which was released July 17, Holland and Zendaya will reunite on screen in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," arriving in theaters July 30.
