May the best flavor win.
One of childhood’s most iconic arguments was over which Popsicle ice pop flavor is best. Whether you’re Team Orange, Cherry, or Grape, you probably still vehemently support your flavor of choice to this very day. This year, Popsicle is settling the debate for once and for all—or at least for the year.
Orange and cherry are starting their breakout careers at Dollar Tree, where they’ll be available in a solo flavor pack, rather than Popsicle’s classic three-pack. Grape doesn’t yet have its own solo flavor pack, but with enough fan interest, it just might. Think of it as the underdog flavor of 2026.
The flavors will compete against each other for a long-term solo spot on Dollar Tree’s shelves. If you’ve always dreamed of being able to buy a Popsicle box that’s filled solely with your favorite flavor, well, you’ll need to show your support this summer to make it happen.
Popsicle Is Putting Together Teams for Each Iconic Flavor
Leading the charge for each fan-favorite flavor are three different celebrities. TV personality and podcaster Stassi Schroeder is repping Team Cherry, influencer and podcaster Drew Afualo is cheering for Team Orange, and singer and actor Ashlee Simpson is all about Team Grape. The goal of each team captain will be to sway as many opinions as possible toward their team’s flavor. There is, of course, the future of the Popsicle solo pack at stake.
Fans Are Already Weighing In
Cherry posted its breakup announcement on social media first (it is the flavor of the summer, after all), shortly followed by a message to fans from orange Popsicle and another from grape. Though these developments are still recent, fans are already picking sides.
“Everyone knows orange is the real star of the show,” a user commented on Popsicle’s social media. “I always say ‘ABO, anything but orange’ in my house,” joked another.
Needless to say, there’s a lot of drama happening in the Popsicle fandom right now. “OH! clean up in the freezer aisle! it’s getting MESSYYYYY,” said one Instagram commenter. “It’s like when Kevin Hart found out Zayn left 1D,” another reminisced.
After 104 years together, maybe it really was time for the Popsicle flavors to go their separate ways. Thankfully, you can still snag a pack of all three at retailers nationwide—just be sure to grab a pack of your favorite solo Popsicle from Dollar Tree, and show your Popsicle of choice lots of love on social media. You just might get a long-term solo flavor pack out of it.
