Taylor Sheridan's Hit 'Yellowstone' Spin-Off Officially Sets New Release for August 25

Taylor Sheridan's mega-hit Yellowstone spin-off Marshals is officially returning this August with a brand-new release.

In the last few years, Taylor Sheridan has established a TV empire like no other during his time at Paramount. While it’s been confirmed that he will leave the studio at the end of 2028 and take his talents to NBCUniversal — meaning his shows will stream on Peacock — he still has plenty to offer Paramount Plus subscribers before he says goodbye. Already this year, Sheridan has released the beloved original Western series, The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. Paramount renewed the show for Season 2 long before the Season 1 premiere, but the studio further doubled down on The Madison not long after it arrived, confirming that it had been renewed for Season 3. Sheridan also expanded the Yellowstone universe with the fiery neo-Western, Dutton Ranch, starring Cole Hauser as Rip and Kelly Reilly as Beth.

Dutton Ranch isn’t the only show to continue the Yellowstone story, though. Back in March, CBS began airing new episodes of Marshals, the Yellowstone procedural spin-off starring Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. The show was the first of its kind (produced by Sheridan) to air on network TV and not straight-to-streaming, and fans weren’t shy about expressing their discontent with the network “episode of the week” model. Still, Marshals did well enough to warrant a Season 2 renewal, and with production already resumed, it’s all but confirmed that the second season will return to CBS before the end of this year. However, fans don’t have to wait too long for a new Marshals release, as Paramount announced this afternoon that the entire first season will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting on August 25.

What Is ‘Marshals’ About?

Marshals is set after the events of the Yellowstone series finale, following Kayce Dutton after he’s traded in his life on the ranch for a U.S. Marshal badge. In the first season of Marshals, Kayce faces off against cartels, gangs, and violent extremists while trying to balance the values of family and friendship that were instilled in him during his time at Dutton Ranch. Additional cast members for Marshals Season 1 include Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, and Logan Marshall-Green. Christina Alexandra Voros and Ben Richardson directed episodes of Season 1, which were written by Spencer Hudnut, Tom Mularz, Dana Greenblatt, Jim Adler,Mark H. Semos, Lyle Mitchell Corbine Jr., and Maggie Schroeder.
