Sunny Hostin Uses 'The View' To Get Her Son Out Of Trespassing Charges
Sunny Hostin shares two children with her husband, Manny Hostin: Gabriel, 24, and Paloma, 20. The former was jogging alongside train tracks in New Rochelle on July 16, 2026, ignoring "no trespassing" signs when police officers stopped him.
"They were just talking to the kid because he was trespassing, but his mother made it an issue," an inside source reported. "She wanted to know why he was stopped and why did they talk to him." According to bodycam footage, officers then got on the phone with Hostin, who asked if they knew who she was. "My name is Sunny Hostin, and I'm one of the co-hosts of 'The View' and I'm a former federal prosecutor."
Further footage shows Hostin arriving on the scene and speaking with officers. "That's my son. He's a Harvard graduate. He doesn't have a criminal record," she says. "He's not a kid who's ever in trouble. It's an innocent mistake."
Unfortunately, The View wasn't enough to get police officers to let Gabriel get off scot-free, as he received a citation for trespassing and is due in court on July 31, 2026.
In an attempt to appeal the situation, Hostin actually wrote a letter to Westchester Assistant District Attorney Amanda Greene, the prosecutor on her son’s case. "When jogging, he observed what appeared to be a gravel incline that could be used for hill training," the letter reads. "Although there was a gate at the entrance of the gravel incline, the gates were standing open. The only 'No Trespassing' sign was affixed to the left gate and, because the gates were open, it was not visible to my client as he entered the property."

Across social media platforms, users were not happy with Hostin for attempting to use her name to get her son out of trouble. "This is ridiculous!" one person wrote on X. "Nobody is above the law."
"She should let him be accountable," another person posted. "So what if his mother is famous? Apparently she doesn't apply the law when it comes to her family."
"I love how she throws out 'I'm a former federal prosecutor' and 'he's a Harvard grad' lol the privilege," wrote the next.
"Karma for Ms. 'No one is above the law,'" another tweet reads. "A Harvard grad can't read signs and needs his mama to try to intervene in an arrest. Her being Sunny made it worse for him."
"I can't stand how elitist she is," another user posted. "What does being a 'former' federal prosecutor and him being a Harvard grad got to do with anything? I'm glad his video is out for the public to see, she must be mortified. What an obnoxious woman."
"For someone that touts all her oppression daily living in this, her words, horrible, racist country, she sure is oozing with privilege in this clip," a final user wrote. "The hypocrisy is strong with Sonny."
