Stephen Curry to receive historic Hall of Fame exhibit this Friday

Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is entering the twilight of his career as he approaches the start of his 18th NBA season. Nicknamed Steph, the former Davidson Wildcats star revolutionized the league's play style through his tremendous three-point shooting.

Curry gained notoriety alongside now-current Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson, whom head coach Mark Jackson helped promote as the sharpshooting duo known as the "Splash Brothers." Steve Kerr took over as head coach for the 2014-15 season and, led by the Splash Brothers and forward Draymond Green, the Warriors ripped through the league (67-15) and won a championship over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games (4-2).

Forward Kevin Durant helped Curry and Golden State win back-to-back titles (2017, 2018) before leaving in 2019. The original trio and head coach were intact to bring home the Warriors' seventh franchise title (2022). Although Thompson, Green and Kerr are seemingly locks for the Hall of Fame, the team recently made an announcement that certifies Curry's credentials in the Hall.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will honor the Ohio native with an exhibit named "Stephen Curry: Beyond the Arc." The Olympic gold medal winner's induction into the Hall of Fame as a current, active player is an unprecedented move in the museum's 75-year history. The exhibit is part of a larger immersive gallery project named "The Vault" by the historic museum in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Warriors went to social media to react to the historic announcement. In an Instagram post, Golden State celebrated the two-time MVP, writing how the 6-foot-2 guard has already changed the game, how he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Friday, and promoting how the 38-year-old will make history yet again by becoming the first active player to ever have such an exhibit.

"He changed the game for good," the Warriors wrote on Instagram. "And now, he makes history yet again. Beginning this Friday, Stephen Curry will become the first active player EVER to have an exhibit at the @hoophall 👏"

Golden State won the 2026 Las Vegas Summer League Championship by defeating Cameron Boozer and the Memphis Grizzlies 94-90 on Sunday.
