When Anna Ferguson made her season debut at Alaska Airlines Arena as a sophomore in 2025, she never thought it would be where she would finish her college gymnastics career.
But that's how things have turned out.
"After an incredible four years at Boise State, I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be using my final year of eligibility to continue both my academic and gymnastics journey at the University of Washington," Ferguson said in a post on her Instagram account last Wednesday to announce her transfer.
"Although this was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, I’m confident this next chapter will be an incredible one. I’m so grateful to the entire UW coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. Thank you to my family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone who has supported me along the way. I can’t wait to see what this next year has in store! Go Dawgs!"
From Dubai, where her family lived for ten years, to Las Vegas and everywhere in between, Ferguson hasn't found a beam she can't face. Now, with one year of college eligibility left, she's chosen Seattle and UW to let her talent flourish.
Ferguson redshirted her freshman season at Boise State in 2023 and then slowly but surely began to make a name for herself.
"She just got up there and nailed it,” Boise State gymnastics coach Tina Bird said when Ferguson earned a near-perfect beam score in her debut. “It was one of those moments where it felt like the whole team won together.”
With her final year of eligibility, Ferguson will help lead UW gymnastics coach Jessa Hansen Parker to another strong season on Montlake following the school's earning the inaugural Big Ten Conference Allstate Women's Championship for the 2025-26 academic calendar.
