Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart continue to be a match made in heaven.
They first met in 2008 when Snoop Dogg appeared on Stewart’s cooking show “The Martha Stewart Show,” according to NBC News. The pair had great on-screen chemistry, and Snoop Dogg described Stewart as a pioneer for inviting rappers on daytime television, which he said was uncommon at the time.
“But we fit right in. Cooking with Martha just seemed like a nice place to be,” Snoop said, according to NBC News.
The pair continued appearing together, including at a Comedy Central roast of Justin Bieber in 2015. In 2016, they launched their own cooking show, “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.” The series ran for two seasons.
“Working with Snoop in the kitchen has been a remarkable experience for me,” Martha recalled, per NBC News. “Not only has he taught me new lingo and cultural references, he surprised me with his unique cooking techniques and recipes.”
The friends went on to be a great asset to each other in the business world. This included Best Buds Bags, an accessory the pair created that sold out within 48 hours of its release in 2023, as AFROTECH previously reported.
That same year, Snoop Dogg also landed a deal with Skechers, which he says Stewart played a key role in.
He discussed the deal during an appearance on the “All The Smoke” podcast.
“I took Martha Stewart’s advice. She said, ‘Snoop, you should get with Skechers because they don’t have anyone like you. They’ll give you as many shoes as you want. You should meet the owner. He used to run LA Gear.'”
Snoop Dogg connected with Skechers founder Robert Greenberg. He recalled seeing about 30 shoe designs bearing his name when they met. He said he was immediately sold on the partnership and also noted the brand’s global reach and how accessible it was to people from “all walks of life.”
“I think, ‘Where’s the paper? I need to sign.’ Then we gonna make shoes for women, kids, basketball shoes,” he said on the podcast.
The partnership officially materialized in 2023. The multi-year deal kicked off with the OG and Remix Capsule in unisex styles from Skechers x Snoop Dogg, per a press release.
Snoop Dogg also has a training shoe collection that launched with the brand in 2025 called Snoop Sparrow Flex, which retailed for $75 at the time, according to Sports Illustrated. It marked the first active sneaker styles for the partnership.
