SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport-Caddo Financial Crimes Task Force says it is seeking the public’s help in locating a felony theft suspect responsible for a loss of $5,750.
Investigators say Lamondre Alex, doing business as Hi-End Finishers, signed a written agreement to complete home renovations. The victim paid Alex $5,000 for the work and an extra $750 for materials that Alex claimed he could buy at a discounted price.
Police say Alex delivered only a small amount of material and never started the renovation. Despite repeatedly promising to begin the project, originally scheduling a start date of July 20, Alex allegedly did not show up.
Detectives reviewed the written contract, Cash App payment records, text messages, photographs, and store receipts. They found that only approximately $420 in purchases could be connected to Alex and that he is not licensed as a contractor in Louisiana.
Officers have obtained a warrant for Alex, who faces one count of felony theft.
The SPD urges anyone with information on Alex’s whereabouts to contact them at 318-673-7300.
