Jenna Bush Hager just received a major honor—and Sheinelle Jones was quick to hype her up.
In 2025, Jenna hosted the fourth hour of the Today show with her segment Today With Jenna and Friends. The gig was a successor to her segment with Hoda Kotb, who exited Today in January 2025, and a temporary arrangement until Sheinelle signed on as Jenna’s full-time co-host. Throughout its run, fans got to see celebrities like Brooke Shields, Dwayne Wade, and more join Jenna at the desk.
In July, the show was nominated for two 2026 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Directing for a Daytime Studio Non-Fiction Series.
Sheinelle commented on the news during the July 14 taping of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle.
“Today With Jenna and Friends has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy,” Sheinelle announced in a clip posted on Instagram. “Congratulations to you! So, can I put this in perspective as we look at all these folks? You had over 61 co-hosts, or exactly 61 co-hosts, over a 52-week period. That’s no small feat. And to be nominated for an Emmy—a Daytime Emmy—for that, is pretty impressive.”
When fans saw Sheinelle hype up Jenna, they did the same.
“And next year it will be @jennasheinelle! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼,” one person wrote in the comments. “Congratulations JBH!! You worked hard for that!! 👏👏👏👏,” another applauded. “Jenna you 💯 deserve it!” a different follower added.
Jenna’s not the only person on Today that got a Daytime Emmy Award nomination. The show’s third hour also received a nod for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
The ceremony will take place on October 30 in Los Angeles.
Congrats to all!
