Ferrell and his wife Viveca Paulin share three children, sons Magnus, Mattias and Axel
Will Ferrell is 59!
Known to be one of the most over-the-top, exuberant actors in Hollywood, fans would be happy to know that at home, the he is the same way.
Ferrell married his wife Viveca Paulin in 2000, after they met in an acting class back in 1991. They would go on to welcome three kids together: sons Magnus, Mattias and Axel. And while the pair relatively kept their family away from the limelight, now 22, 19, and 16, respectively, the boys are slowly stepping out on their own, even sharing funny moments with their famously raucous father on social media.
As the Step Brothers actor celebrates his big day today, check out some sweet moments of Will Ferrell with his wife Viveca and their three sons.

Like Father, Like Sons
It seems Magnus, Mattias and Axel decided the best time to celebrate their dad’s star on the Hollywood of Walk of Fame back in 2015, was during his acceptance speech.
During a segment on CBS Mornings in 2017, Will opened up to Amy Poehler about how his sons’ take his sense of humor. “A lot of times I’ll get, ‘Stop with the voices, let’s get back to the story. Like, I appreciate what you’re trying to do but you’re taking away from the story.’ “

Dad Will Be Dad
In a hilarious TikTok video from 2024, a stone-faced Magnus — dressed in a cool black and white ensemble for his prom — looked totally unimpressed as his gleeful dad proudly showed off his medieval get-up. “Rating things my dad has done,” Magnus wrote on the first slide, followed by, “Dressed as a medieval lord to embarrass me at prom 10000/10.”
In his previous years, Will did admit embarrassing his kids is a favorite pastime of his, especially if they misbehaved in their younger years. “If they’ve been mouthing off or something, I turn up at dinner wearing just my underpants to warn them,” the actor told BANG Showbiz in 2017, per 8Days.

Courtside Bonding
Will and Magnus were a lookalike pair as they sat courtside to watch the Los Angeles Lakers take on the San Antonio Spurs in 2025.
Magnus, who is now pursing a music career, opened up about being an up-and-coming artist, while also living with his parents back in 2025. Although he admitted “it’s hard to get” his “personal space,” and having to do errands and chores around the house, he still loved the upsides of living at home.
“I love my family so much. That sounds so bad. I love hanging out with them, but I think that’s part of it,” he told PEOPLE. “I get to live at home. I get to have home-cooked meals, But I also have to do things you got to do when you live at home. I mean, you got to help run the house. It’s like you have to.”
