They seem genuinely happy together.

Christina Aguilera and her longtime love, Matthew Rutler, still look so in love 16 years after first getting together.

Aguilera, 45, a beloved singer known for her tremendous vocal range, made a rare public appearance alongside her fiancé at an exclusive party at Sartiano's hosted by Todd Graves, owner and founder of Raising Cane's, in New York City. Snuggling up on a couch together, the duo looked happy and in love during the fun event.

How Long Have Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler Been Together?

The duo first got together in 2010. Rutler, a New Jersey native, worked on several film sets in the New England area after attending Roger Williams University. He then moved out to Los Angeles, where he met Aguilera when he worked as a production assistant on her 2010 film, Burlesque.

16 years later, the couple is still going strong. On Mother's Day, Rutler took to Instagram to honor Aguilera, with whom he has a daughter, Summer Rain.

"Happy Mother’s Day @xtina to the most incredible woman and mom I know. Watching you pour your love, strength, and creativity into our family is the greatest gift. From our travel adventures to late night White Lotus marathons, every moment with you is magic. Summer and Max are so lucky to have you—and so am I. We love you beyond words. ❤️," he wrote.

Aguilera Almost Didn't Get One of Her Biggest Songs

Back in May, legendary songwriter Linda Perry admitted that she originally didn’t think Aguilera was the right singer to sing her song “Beautiful.” Why? Because Aguilera was too hot.

“No, you’re like, a hot chick. I’m not giving you this song. No way. Are you kidding me?” Perry recalled saying during a recent episode of the Zach Sang Show. However, her manager advised her to give Aguilera the chance to belt out the now-beloved tune.

“It made sense,” Linda shared. “That’s when I discovered, oh, beautiful people are actually insecure and just as damaged as I am. “She’s just as f---ed up as I am. Okay. And then it broke the ice between the both of us when I saw that.”
