Samsung has officially unveiled its latest lineup of foldable smartphones. While the Fold series usually steals the spotlight for high-end productivity, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 arrives as the most accessible and pocket-friendly entry in the new Galaxy Z 8 family.

Unlike its larger book-style siblings, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 sticks to the popular clamshell design. It’s built for those who seek the ultimate in portability but refuse to sacrifice modern flagship performance. Here’s a close look at what the Galaxy Z Flip 8 brings to the table.

Performance and hardware under the hood

Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy powers the Galaxy Z Flip 8. This custom, overclocked chip gives the compact phone serious speed and efficiency. Buyers can choose between 256GB or 512GB of internal storage, both with 12GB of RAM.

When you open the device, you get a bright 6.9-inch FHD+ display running at 1080 x 2520 pixels with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. On the outside, the cover display measures 4.1 inches. This HD+ Super AMOLED panel sports a resolution of 948 x 1048 pixels and also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, letting you handle quick tasks, read notifications, and take selfies without opening the phone.

Cameras built for everyday shots

The camera setup on the Galaxy Z Flip 8 focuses on practical daily photography. The main camera features a 50MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and an 85-degree FOV. It is paired with a 12MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 123-degree FOV. For video calls and fast snaps, the phone features a 10MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an 85-degree FOV.

Battery, dimensions, and software

A 4,300mAh battery keeps the device running throughout the day. It supports 25W wired fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare to top up accessories like earbuds on the go. As expected with recent flagships, the charger is not included in the box.

In terms of dimensions, the device measures 166.9 x 75.4 x 6.1mm when unfolded, making it remarkably thin. When folded shut, it drops down to a compact 85.7 x 75.4 x 13.1mm block that slides effortlessly into small pockets.

The device features IP48 water resistance and ships with Android 17 layered with Samsung’s One UI 9 skin right out of the box. Modern connectivity options like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 are also included. Samsung offers the Galaxy Z Flip 8 in Pink, Graphite, and Cream, alongside a Mint colorway available exclusively through the online Samsung Store.
