Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 release date

Samsung officially announced its latest batch of foldables today at its Unpacked event in London. Alongside the book-style entries in the series, the compact Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 made its debut. The new device is already available for pre-order, and Samsung has confirmed that the official release date for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is August 7.

Pre-orders, pricing, and availability

Samsung is running a standard two-week pre-order period following today’s announcement. Starting August 7, the phone will be available for direct purchase through the official Samsung Store, as well as across major retailers and wireless carriers.

The base model of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM is priced at $1,199.99 in the United States. For users needing extra space, a 512GB variant is available for $1,399. Unlike its larger foldable siblings, there are no 16GB RAM or 1TB storage tiers for the Flip. Buyers will also notice a $100 price bump on the entry-level model compared to last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 7. This is driven primarily by rising component costs across the tech industry.

A unique standout in the Galaxy Z Series

Even with the price change, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 remains the most affordable device in Samsung’s new lineup. It also offers the most distinct form factor. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 goes wider while the Fold 8 Ultra is all about maximum productivity. On the other hand, the Flip 8 doubles down on ultimate portability. This model delivers a modern take on the nostalgic clamshell experience.

In terms of specs, the handset features a flexible 6.9-inch main internal display paired with a functional 4.1-inch cover display on the outside. A 4,300mAh battery keeps the hardware powered throughout the day, supporting 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

With pre-orders open today, fans will not have to wait long to get their hands on Samsung’s latest pocket-sized flagship when shipments begin on August 7.
