Roz said: 'Basically my parents live at the bottom of the mountain, my sister Rachel lives at the bottom of the mountain looking up at it. So their house is covered in smoke now depending on the wind.'

She highlighted her viewpoint and how the blaze has spread on either side of Coillte Forest.

'It's very hard when you're up there to get a concept of where the fire is because you're kind of just in smoke.

'So I've been coming down to the road to see where it is... because it's kind of scary not knowing what's happening,' she continued.

Commenting on the thick smoke that has surrounded the area, she concluded: 'I feel like I've smoked 900 cigarettes in the last 24 hours... My mouth is like a carpet.'

Roz’s update comes as it was confirmed that the wildfire on Slievenamon had spread to the Coillte forest.

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Carol Kennedy, acting senior assistant chief fire officer with Tipperary Fire and Rescue Service, also offered an update.

On Tuesday, she said that the fire ‘took off quietly again’ and on Wednesday shared that the temperature lowering had helped ‘dampen down the fire a little bit.’
