Another day, another opportunity to wait for LeBron James to make his decision in free agency. Fans have grown impatient and weary with James, who is taking his time to pick his next team after leaving the Los Angeles Lakers.
On his podcast, James’ agent, Rich Paul, claimed they are not milking the situation for “attention and spectacle,” stressing that the four-time MVP has plenty to consider before making his decision, thus the long delay. He asked for patience from everyone, adding that he did not have a clue about James’ choice.
On “The Pat McAfee Show,” Paul reiterated the same points amid NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s request to James to “hurry up.”

“Just have a little patience with him. That’s absolutely his choice. I have a job to do to set the table for him, but it’s his choice. In my conversations with Adam, the greatest commissioner of all leagues, we understand where the league is at and things of that nature as it pertains to the schedule, but it’s a very conflicting thing because it’s a very important choice for him. You can’t rush him. I think he’s earned the right not to be rushed. It’s not a thing where you’re toying with people’s emotions,” said Paul.
“This man has a very important, layered decision to make across business, across his family, across basketball.”
When asked about the possible ending of the 41-year-old James’ unparalleled career, Paul said he has refused to think too far ahead.
“You have to be happy for a guy who’s earned it. I asked him to find humility and peace while still playing the game, and if he can do that moving forward. I personally don’t like to think about the end of it because he’s got so much left in the tank,” added Paul, who has handled the future Hall of Famer since 2012.
James is being linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Golden State Warriors, the Miami Heat, and the Philadelphia 76ers. He, however, has refused to meet with any team, leaving Paul to negotiate on his behalf.
