Washington Wizards forward AJ Dybantsa gave a glimpse of his all-around talent in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Although he only appeared in two games, it was enough to show that he is a superstar in the making.
Dybantsa, the first overall pick, admitted that he still needs to work on a lot of things amid his transition to the NBA. But he said he enjoys the grind, which is a huge green flag for the Wizards. But as far as confidence? He already has it down pat.
Exhibit A: He said he can dunk on NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

When told about it, O’Neal issued a sweet response. After all, he can be as cuddly as a chainsaw.
“You better call his doctor because I will lay his little a** out,” said the Hall of Famer in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
Someone should send that to Hallmark for a get-well-soon card.
To be clear, O’Neal was only joking.
He has known Dybantsa since the 19-year-old rookie was in high school. O’Neal even asked his former agent, Leonard Armato, to reach out to Dybantsa and help build his brand, seeing that the promising youngster had the talent to play in the NBA.
O’Neal and Dybantsa have also filmed a commercial together for a dietary supplement brand.
Like the four-time champion and former MVP, Dybantsa will try to live up to the hype of being the No. 1 pick. Washington has only been to the playoffs once in the last eight seasons.
The Wizards have not had a Rookie of the Year since Wes Unseld in 1969. Unseld was also named MVP that year.
