Much of the Northeastern United States is dealing with soggy weather on July 21 and the Boston area is no exception. The Boston Red Sox's hunt for franchise history with their 15th-straight win may be interrupted or postponed, entirely.
According to AccuWeather, Boston should expect some scattered rain and thunderstorms throughout the evening — unfortunately, at most of the times it would be possible for the Red Sox to play a baseball game.
There's a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms at 7 p.m., the hour of the first pitch. The odds of rain dip to 49 percent from the hours of 8 and 9 p.m., then the chances jump back into the 60s later in the night. There isn't a big window to fit a game in at any time, unless the rain holds off completely.
The Red Sox have become somewhat infamous for canceling rainy games at the last minute, after fans have already arrived at the park, and in some cases, purchased food, drinks and parking. It's possible that the backlash could encourage Boston to postpone the game rather than opting for a long delay, but there is a small window to fit a quick game in tonight.

Boston and Baltimore meet again for their season finale in the first week of September, but that series is already four games long and neither club has an off day on either side.
A postponement might not be the worst thing for the Red Sox, who hoped Ranger Suarez would be able to pitch on July 21 after a 15-day injured list stint. Eduardo Rivera is scheduled to start for Boston because it wanted to give Suarez an extra day of rest, but the whole team may end up getting an extra day, if the weather report ends up being accurate.
Just down the Mass Pike, the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox have already postponed their July 21 game and scheduled a doubleheader for the following day, as reported by Tommy Cassell of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. They could inspire the big league team to do the same, or the Red Sox could keep their game on to keep the momentum of their win streak going, even in nasty weather. Fans will have to wait and see.
