It was a short week in the minor leagues thanks to the All-Star break, but a few of the usual suspects (and some newer names) made sure this week was as jam-packed as it always is.
While the major league team is streaking, the Boston Red Sox prospect watch is here to show you that the organization is firing on all cylinders at the moment.
Red Sox Prospect Update: Franklin Primera announces himself, Anthony Eyanson gem, Anderson Fermin
Worcester Red Sox (Triple-A)
Allan Castro went 4-for-7 with a walk, a double, and an RBI. The switch-hitting outfielder is slashing .239/.315/.356 with eight doubles, one triple, and eight home runs. He’s driven in 42 runs, scored 37, and stolen 17 bases.
Angel Bastardo tossed two perfect innings with four strikeouts out of the bullpen in his lone appearance this week. The right-handed pitcher has a 5.08 ERA, .220 BAA, and 1.40 WHIP in 22 appearances. He has 45 strikeouts and 20 walks in 33 2/3 innings. Bastardo has a 4-1 record with one save this season.
Portland Sea Dogs (Double-A)
Anthony Eyanson twirled an absolute gem to open up the second half. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit over five shutout innings. He walked one batter and struck out eight. Eyanson threw 61 pitches, 48 of which went for strikes, and in those 48 strikes, he generated an eye-popping 19 whiffs. The 21-year-old has a 1.19 ERA, .144 BAA, and 0.82 WHIP in 14 games (13 starts) between High-A and Double-A. He has 79 strikeouts and 21 walks in 60 2/3 innings.
Gage Ziehl wasn’t to be one-upped by Eyanson. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits over five shutout innings. He walked one batter and struck out eight. Ziehl has a 4.50 ERA, .273 BAA, and 1.31 WHIP in 15 starts. He has 84 strikeouts and 16 walks in 72 innings.
Ronald Rosario went 4-for-12 with two doubles, two home runs, and five RBI this week. The right-handed-hitting catcher/first baseman won the Eastern League Player of the Week last week, and he’s clearly vying for the award again. He’s slashing .282/.324/.500 with eight doubles, one triple, and nine home runs. Rosie has driven in 31 runs, scored 25, and stolen two bases.
Jack Winnay went 3-for-8 with a walk, two doubles, and an RBI this week. He’s now riding a 12-game hitting streak. The right-handed-hitting corner infielder is slashing .333/.392/.486 with five doubles and two home runs since being promoted to Double-A. He has eight RBI and 14 runs scored in 19 games.
Greenville Drive (High-A)
Antonio Anderson went 4-for-10 with a triple, a home run, and four RBI. The switch-hitting corner infielder is slashing .260/.359/.438 with eight doubles, two triples, and six home runs. He’s driven in 29 runs, scored 29, and stolen one base. His turnaround continues to be one of the most impressive feats in the system.
Yophery Rodriguez went 3-for-8 with a double, a home run, and five RBI this week. The left-handed-hitting outfielder is slashing .228/.308/.449 with 17 doubles and 13 home runs. He’s driven in 34 runs, scored 43, and stolen one base. Rodriguez had 12 home runs in 2024 and 2025 combined; he’s surpassed that in 2026 alone.
Ronny Hernandez went 5-for-11 with a double. The left-handed-hitting first baseman/catcher holds a .288/.413/.592 slash line with eight doubles and 10 home runs. He’s driven in 22 runs and scored 28. Through 39 games, Hernandez still has more walks (27) than strikeouts (18).
Salem RidgeYaks (Single-A)
Franklin Primera had a monster week and hit his first Single-A home run. The right-handed-hitting catcher went 5-for-9 with two doubles and that homer. He’s slashing .239/.364/.370 with three doubles and a home run since being promoted to Single-A. He’s driven in two runs and scored 11 in 12 games.
Avinson Pinto went 4-for-7 with two doubles, five RBI, and a steal. He walked more times (2) than he struck out (1). The left-handed-hitting shortstop/second baseman is slashing .232/.331/.374 with 13 doubles, five triples, and four home runs. He’s driven in 31 runs, scored 39, and stolen eight bases.
Anderson Fermin went 4-for-7 with a triple, six RBI, and two steals. He walked more times (2) than he struck out (1). The switch-hitting outfielder holds a .217/.385/.296 slash line with five doubles, two triples, and one home run. He’s driven in 17 runs, scored 27, and stolen eight bases.
Louis Andujar went 4-for-8 with two doubles, a triple, and a home run. He drove in five runs, scored five runs, and stole two bases. The right-handed-hitting infielder is slashing .208/.293/.346 with seven doubles, one triple, and three home runs since being promoted to Single-A. He’s driven in 17 runs, scored 19 runs, and stolen five bases in 34 games.
Kleyver Salazar went 4-for-7 with two doubles, a home run, and three RBI. He had two walks and just one strikeout. The right-handed-hitting catcher/first baseman is slashing .261/.366/.413 with 14 doubles and seven home runs. He’s driven in 39 runs, scored 36, and stolen five bases.
Jose Bello allowed one run on three hits over 5 1/3 innings in his start this week en route to his first victory of the season. The right-handed pitcher struck out four batters and walked one. Bello (the last remnants of the Rafael Devers trade) has a 2.84 ERA, .225 BAA, and 1.31 WHIP in 13 games (seven starts). He has 34 strikeouts and 22 walks in 44 1/3 innings.
Trennor O’Donnell allowed two hits over four shutout innings to pick up a save in his bullpen appearance this week. The right-handed pitcher struck out four batters without walking any. O’Donnell has a 4.00 ERA, .257 BAA, and 1.11 WHIP in three appearances (one start). He has 10 strikeouts and one walk in nine innings.
