Las Vegas will be led by a handful of original Raiders this season. Players who have spent their entire career in Silver & Black and are stars in this league. But in order for the team to take the next step, they will need a few more of their home-grown players to take the next step. A few in particular appear poised to do that.
WR Tre Tucker (2023) – Round 3, pick 100
The speedy receiver got off to a slow start to this career due to eye sight problems. But eye surgery improved things dramatically for him and his yards and TDs have gone up each season despite the Raiders issues on offense and at quarterback. He enters the final season of his rookie contract this year and if his upward trend continues, he should earn an extension.
RB Ashton Jeanty (2025) – Round 1, pick 6
A disaster of an offensive line ruined any chance he had of bringing his elite talents to the NFL as a rookie. But there were signs that with even competent blocking, he could make magic happen.
QB Fernando Mendoza (2026) – Round 1, pick 1
Yes, Mendoza hasn't yet played a game. But he is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, National Championship winning QB, and number one overall pick. As soon as he is deemed ready to take over as this team's franchise QB, his multi-year run will begin. That figures to happen at some point this season, perhaps even right away.
