Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s trip to England is reportedly causing tension.
According to an insider, the Duchess of Sussex’s sudden changes to their return to the U.K. left her husband feeling uneasy about their future.
Harry ‘in a state of panic’ over what Meghan is ‘planning next’
While security issues and alleged arrangements with The Firm led to alterations of their trip, Harry wanted Meghan and their two children with him for the entire duration of the visit.
“He’s feeling incredibly betrayed by Meghan’s sudden U-turn,” a source told Closer.
“Meghan is suddenly making all these massive, life-altering decisions on her own, from pulling out of their planned joint charity commitments to freezing him out of family plans,” they continued. “He’s in a state of panic about what she’s planning next.”
Harry and Meghan’s communication has ‘completely broken down’
Although the Spare author and his family reunited with King Charles III and began mending their estranged relationship, it might’ve come at the cost of his marriage.
“Harry’s completely in the dark about why she’s suddenly shutting down and retreating — it’s triggering a lot of old insecurities for him,” the insider claimed.
“He’s desperately trying to understand her mindset, but the communication has completely broken down and it’s a terrifyingly lonely position for him to be in,” the source noted.
Meghan can’t ‘fake it anymore’ in England
The pair’s meet-up with His Majesty and Queen Camilla reportedly put the Suits actress over the edge.
“Things have become so strained between them behind closed doors. Meghan insisted she couldn’t fake it anymore in the U.K. — especially when she’d be having to deal with the stress and anxiety of seeing all the family and the intense spotlight they’d be under, having the children there too,” the insider said.
“The last few weeks have been increasingly strained and the pressure of the trip became too much, with Meghan buckling and telling Harry she couldn’t face the eyes of the world looking for even the tiniest fracture, a cold glance, or a hint of distance between them while they navigate their marriage issues,” they alleged.
Harry feels Meghan isn’t giving him the ‘support’ he needs
Per the source, the 41-year-old believes Meghan and their kids should’ve been by his side the entire time they were in Britain.
“Harry has privately told people that if Meghan doesn’t show him some form of support, even just a brief fly-in for a couple of days to stand by his side, it feels like the ultimate rejection,” the insider claimed.
“He is at his absolute wits’ end and if she refuses to bridge this gap, this lonely solo trip might signal the start of some serious trouble for their marriage,” they said.
