Pokémon has been celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, and while the next mainline game in the series, Winds and Waves, won't arrive until 2027, fans have still been treated to some fantastic new releases. Case in point: The Pokémon Company is releasing a new series of collectibles that include a new Charizard design.
The Shower Splash collection is set to release this September and features a new version of Charizard that's designed to look like a fiery fountain. While this version of Charizard probably won't appear in future games, it's still a design that fans of the iconic Gen 1 Pokémon are sure to appreciate.

Charizard is no stranger to getting new forms. As one of the most popular Pokémon in existence, it gets them far more often than nearly any other. It got a Shiny form in Generation II, two different Mega Evolutions in Generation VI, and a Gigantamax form in Generation VIII.
Now, Charizard has received a new design as a part of the Shower Splash Collection. Released by Re-Ment and available at various Japanese retailers, this line of collectibles doesn't just celebrate Charizard, but also the beautiful Water-type Milotic, the original Pikachu copycats Plusle and Minun, Water-type Starter Pokémon Squirtle and Totodile, the Pseudo-Legendary Dragon-type Hydreigon, and the Legendary Grass-type Shaymin.
In his new form, Charizard becomes a fiery fountain. The collectible has Charizard breathing a burst of fire into the air, with it pooling into the rocks beneath him as if it were water.
The Shower Splash collection is set to release on September 28. The set will cost approximately $60 USD at full-price, but a sale is available from Plaza Japan to get it for only $48 USD. These numbers do not include shipping or import fees.
Of course, the Shower Splash Collection is far from the only way Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Various other brand collaborations are taking place, many of which feature Charizard prominently and, earlier in the year, Pokémon Champions and Pokémon Pokopia were released, and the next mainline titles in the video game series, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, were officially announced and revealed.
