10 most valuable Pokémon TCG cards you can still pull today

10 Most Valuable Pokémon TCG Cards You Can Still Pull Today
10 Most Valuable Pokémon TCG Cards You Can Still Pull Today

There are still some excellent Pokémon TCG cards players can find when opening packs from the last three years.

Pokémon fans have been collecting Pokémon cards for nearly three decades. The Pokémon Trading Card Game is one of the most infamous and popular trading card games (TCG) ever made. Unfortunately, due to the high demand, collecting, trading, and playing the Pokémon TCG has become an extremely expensive hobby. Getting Pokémon products at market value has become harder and harder, leaving many fans to buy products through second-hand markets.

Because Pokémon cards have been in such high demand, the value of many rarer cards has also been driven up. This list will cover 10 of the most valuable cards that collectors can still pull in packs today. For argument's sake, we'll call that about three years, so this list will only cover cards from Scarlet & Violet's Paldea Fates, which was released in June 2023, to Mega Evolution's Chaos Rising, which was released in May 2026.

Reshiram ex (173/086) Is One of the Most Expensive White Flare Cards

Scarlet & Violet's White Flare and Black Bolt expansions were released on July 18, 2025, and they were the final releases of the Scarlet & Violet era. The Scarlet & Violet era gave collectors truly iconic sets like Destined Rivals, Prismatic Evolutions, and Pokémon 151, so, unfortunately, White Flare and Black Bolt seriously flew under the radar. That said, there are still a few decent chase cards from White Flare and Black Bolt, and Reshiram ex (173/086) is one such card.

Reshiram ex is a Black White Rare card specifically from White Flare. This all-white card is an incredibly unique card, but it isn't a very attractive one. It almost looks grainy and the lacking contrast makes the Pokémon difficult to see. Still, this card has managed to gain strong value over the last year. Its current market price on TCGplayer.com is $497, making it the cheapest card on this list, but still an incredibly pricy piece of cardboard.

Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex (231/182) Became an Instant Must-Pull

Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex (231/182) is a Special Illustration Rare (SIR) from Scarlet & Violet's Destined Rivals, which was released on May 30, 2025. Destined Rivals focused on depictions of Pokémon with their various Trainers, with a special interest in Team Rocket. With a set honoring Team Rocket in place, it was to be expected that there would be a Mewtwo card that depicts Mewtwo with Team Rocket's leader, Giovanni.

Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex is that card. This SIR was designed by artist Iwamoto05, and it depicts a massive Mewtwo levitating through a red-lit city. Giovanni sits at the forefront of the card, with Mewtwo behind him. Giovanni is a fan-favorite villain and Mewtwo is a fan-favorite Pokémon, so this card was destined to gain value. Currently, it's worth about $542.

Sylveon ex (156/131) Has Serious Magical Girl Energy

Sylveon ex (165/131) is an SIR from Scarlet & Violet's Prismatic Evolutions, a Special Set that was released on January 17, 2025. This set became highly desirable thanks to its focus on Eevee and all of Eevee's evolutions, known as Eeveelutions. Eevee and every single Eeveelution got a beautiful SIR card, and most of these SIRs are worth a few hundred dollars. Sylveon ex is the second most valuable card in Prismatic Evolutions, with a current market price of $559.

Sylveon ex was designed by artist Cona Nitanda, and they did a phenomenal job capturing the Fairy-type charm Sylveon has. Sylveon is framed by pink and blue bows and ribbons, sparks, and adorable flowers, giving the entire card a magical girl transformation vibe. Out of all the cards in this set, Sylveon ex is definitely the most precious.

Victini (171/086) Is a Striking All-Red Card

Victini (171/086) is a White Black Rare from Scarlet & Violet's Black Bolt set. This is a particularly interesting card, because there are technically two versions of it. 171, which can be pulled in Black Bolt, and 172, which can be pulled in White Flare. These two cards look almost identical, but they are technically two different cards, with two different values. The White Flare version is worth around $549, but the Black Bolt version is worth a little bit more, at $587.

Artist 5ban Graphics designed this card, and it looks really similar to the Reshiram ex we talked about earlier. While Reshiram ex was an all-white card, both Victini cards are all-red cards, with the Pokémon jumping with its hands flying out to either side. The Pokémon wears a joyful smile, it's just a shame that this grainy artwork doesn't really do the Pokémon justice.

Mew ex (232/091) Is a Memorable Shiny Mew Card

Mew ex (232/091) is an SIR from Scarlet & Violet's Paldean Fates expansion, which was released on January 26, 2024. This is actually the oldest card on our list even though it came out in 2024. No cards from Paldea Evolved (June 2023), Obsidian Flames (August 2023), 151 (September 2023), or Paradox Rift (November 2024) are currently worth more than the Reshiram ex that occupies the 10th spot on our top 10 list.

Mew ex currently has a market price of $740, and it's not hard to see why collectors want to get their hands on this card. Artist USGMEN designed this shiny mew card to look cartoonish and 2-dimensional, which works brilliantly for the cheerful vibe of this card. Shiny Mew sits in a bubble over a small lake, smiling happily in the sun as several other Pokémon play beneath it. This card is just happiness on a piece of cardboard.

Mega Dragonite ex (290/217) Offers an Angelic Art Style

Mega Dragonite ex (290/217) is an SIR from Mega Evolution's Ascended Heroes. Ascended Heroes was released on January 30, 2026, making Mega Dragonite the newest card on this list (along with a few others from Ascended Heroes). Unfortunately, no cards in Perfect Order (March 2026) or Chaos Rising (May 2026) have managed to match Reshiram ex's value, but several cards from Ascended Heroes have.

Mega Dragonite ex is the first of three cards from Ascended Heroes to appear on this list. Mega Dragonite ex currently has a market price of around $800, and it features beautiful, pastel artwork of Mega Dragonite looking like an angel with its massive wings. The Pokémon's pre-evolutions surround it, giving this card an even more special design element. Artist aky CG Works did a wonderful job bringing this card to life. It's also worth noting that while the Mega Charizard Y ex (294/217) Mega Hyper Rare didn't officially make it onto this list, it's also an extremely valuable card from Ascended Heroes.

Mega Charizard X ex (125/094) Is a Darker Version of Mega Dragonite ex's Art Style

Mega Charizard X ex (125/094) is an SIR from Mega Evolution's Phantasmal Flames, which came out on November 14, 2025. Phantasmal Flames was the first expansion for the Mega Evolution era, and it rapidly became the most valuable card in the entire set. Currently, this fearsome card is worth about $854. As an incredible Charizard card with unique artwork, it's not surprising that collectors are anxious to get their hands on it.

Artist takuyoa designed this card to show the cool toned contrast between Mega Charizard and the rest of the evolution line. Mega Charizard is massive, black and blue, and breathes blue flames, while Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard are orange and breathe yellow and orange flames. This card, like Mega Dragonite ex, shows off the entire evolution line, but this Pokémon card looks much more menacing.

Pikachu ex (276/217) Is a Shockingly Pricy Card

Don't get us wrong, Pikachu is always a highly sought-after Pokémon. As the mascot of the entire franchise, plenty of Pikachu cards end up being worth hundreds of dollars, with the hyper-rare ones often reaching thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. This Pikachu, however, is a bit of a mystery. Pikachu ex (276/217) is another SIR from Ascended Heroes, and it currently has a market price of $1,238.

Plenty of Pikachu cards gain value over time, like the highly desirable Pikachu ex (238/191) from Surging Sparks. Thing is, the Surging Sparks Pikachu is only worth about $355. Artist booota designed this adorable Pikachu ex card to depict a confused Pikachu wandering through a sun-lit forest. It's an extremely cute card, it's just hard to imagine how it managed to be worth more than $1,000.

Mega Gengar ex (284/217) Is the Top Ascended Heroes Chase Card

Like Pikachu and Charizard, Gengar is always guaranteed to get Pokémon fans excited. As one of the most beloved Pokémon of the original generation, fans were excited to learn Gengar was finally receiving a Mega Gengar evolution. Mega Gengar ex (284/217) is an SIR from Ascended Heroes, and although its market value keeps battling with Pikachu ex, most fans consider it to be the best card in the set. Currently, Mega Gengar ex has a market price of $1,334.

Artist Taiga Kasai designed this incredibly dynamic card by depicting Mega Gengar rising above swirling, multicolored clouds. The artwork keeps Gengar's menacing smile and aura, but it almost looks like Mega Gengar is going to float right off the cardboard and enter the real world. This awesome and powerful Pokémon is hard to argue with.

Umbreon ex (161/131) Is a Spiritual Successor to the Infamous "Moonbreon"

Pokémon collectors are likely familiar with Sword & Shield's Evolving Skies (August 2021), which contains several major chase cards. The top chase card from Evolving Skies is the legendary Umbreon VMAX Secret Rare, which depicts a massive Umbreon reaching for a full moon. This card has lovingly been nicknamed "Moonbreon," and many collectors feel that Prismatic Evolutions' Umbreon ex followed in Moonbreon's footsteps.

Umbreon ex (161/131) is an SIR from Prismatic Evolutions, and it depicts Umbreon sitting in front of a massive sun. Adorably nicknamed "Sunbreon," many collectors feel that these two cards are two halves of a whole. Umbreon ex was designed by artist YASHIRO Nanaco, and it became the top chase card in the entire set. In fact, it's worth almost three times what Sylveon ex (the second most valuable card in the set) is worth, with a market price of $1,504.
