If you ever had your own place, you know making it feel like "home" takes time and effort. And for those who love to host, making your guests feel welcome is everything.
I recently stumbled across a Reddit thread where people shared "green flags" when visiting someone else's home. Here are the little details that actually make a huge difference:
1."The home looks lived in rather than performative. Clean enough to be comfortable, but not so pristine that you're afraid to sit down."
2."Good lighting. Some people live like cave trolls. 😅"

19."They have cats, but I cannot smell litter."
20."Their decor reveals something about their taste and character, and isn't just generic 'art' that could belong in any staged home."
21."A made bed."
22."When their house smells good, or at least neutral smelling! Too many times, I will hang out with someone and their house smells like weed or cigarette smoke, making my clothes smell like that!"
23."If they have kids, I love to see a display of their art. Also, family photos that aren't just one staged photoshoot."

24."The #1 answer is a bidet, nothing like a clean bum."

26."Clean floors. I don't mean they need to be mopped, but swing a vacuum over them. By the doors when you come in, I understand, but the middle of the house shouldn't have mud or other debris. CRUMBS. Unless you are actively cooking or just ate, it skeeves me out so hard. If I have a single crumb, we end up with ants, so I think that's where my fear of crumbs is from."
27."Their AC is working very well. I can't tell you how many homes I've been to lately where it's 80 degrees inside."
28."The host seems comfortable there. A home that reflects the person's personality rather than trying to impress everyone can be very welcoming."
