In case you missed it, Olive Garden sold 10,000 passes that gave customers 13 weeks of unlimited pasta for just $100.
Someone on X reached out to Olive Garden and asked if they could use the pasta pass for their entire family.
Olive Garden responded, "No," obviously. They said that the Pasta Pass holder would have to show valid photo ID to order the pasta.
Republicans LOVED it.

It has become their entire identity.
"For God's sake -- you can't get pasta at Olive Garden without a picture ID! Why not be able to show a picture ID to vote?"

But not so fast, folks!!!! The New York Times wrote that it was "misleading."
First of all, Olive Garden only needs to see a standard photo ID (like a driver’s license) to confirm you’re the person on the pass. The SAVE America Act would require people to show documentary proof of citizenship, think: birth certificate or passport, just to register to vote.
Secondly, three dozen states already require identification to vote in person, and the remaining states verify people's identity using other methods like signature affidavits.
And third, we're talking about PASTA... not Americans' fundamental right to vote!
I'm starting to see some VERY funny reactions to the whole thing...
