Under threat from Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Premier Tech), winner in the sprint of Stage 17 of the Tour de France in Voiron this Wednesday, Green Jersey Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) was poorly rewarded for all his efforts.

Green Jersey Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek), after Stage 17 of the Tour de France, which he finished 8th, speaking to France TV: «There’s not much I can do with this most combative rider of the day award. We’re in a points race... and today (Wednesday), we lost points to our main rival (Jasper Philipsen, back to 445 points, compared with 452 for Pedersen). So this award doesn’t help me (smiles).
