When you think of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", you don't just picture a chaotic group of turtles constantly standing in the way of villains like Shredder or Krang. The four mutated ninja teenagers are also inextricably linked with their mentor Splinter, reporter April O'Neil, and a love of fragrant pizza. So it was high time that just a few weeks ago, the first official Turtles pizzeria finally opened.
For the first time, there's a pizza shop featuring the cult turtles
For more than four decades, the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" have been thrilling their fans in the form of comics, series, films, video games, and more. But only this June did it finally happen that a permanent officially licensed pizzeria opened its doors.
About a month ago, on June 20, 2026, the world's first official "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" pizzeria had its grand opening in Santa Monica, California, according to Paramount. The restaurant is located on Third Street Promenade and brings fans closer to Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo's pizza preference for the first time as a permanent dining concept. A glimpse into the sacred pizza halls can be found on an official Instagram account, among other places.
The establishment, which according to Paramount is just under 3,000 square feet, is visually inspired by the "TMNT" world of the 1980s. Neon signs and lights welcome visitors, as does a free-to-use arcade machine and a bar where adults can enjoy happy hour. Additionally, fans can also purchase merchandise such as T-shirts, caps, or skateboard decks as souvenirs.
Pizzas with Turtles names
With all of that, the pizza shouldn't become a side note. For the menu, the operators brought on Brooklyn-based pizza maker and consultant Angelo Womack. Large New York-style pizzas are offered either as a whole pizza or by the slice.
And of course, the menu is full of references to the Ninja Turtles. One of the pizzas, for example, bears the legendary Turtles catchphrase in its name - the "Cowabunga Cheese" pizza. Also available are "Shredder's Revenge" with spicy jalapeños or "Mutagen Mushroom" with mushrooms, garlic, ricotta, and more. The cocktail menu features, for example, four different margaritas in the colors of the Turtles' face masks.
Those who stop by shouldn't expect cheap pizzas, however. The most affordable option is according to the current menu the "Cowabunga Cheese" pizza. A slice costs $6.50, the whole pizza $39. The two most expensive alternatives are Splinter and Rocksteady pizzas, where a slice costs $9 and the whole pizza $54. The Turtles pizzeria is open Sundays through Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
