Oziyah Sellers has enough size to make the defensive idea interesting. The St. John’s connection also means he is not coming into New York as a complete unknown to local fans. The next step is proving that his game works when the opponent is targeting him.
The role is there if he takes it
The best version of Sellers for the Knicks is not a summer scorer who fades when the veterans return. It is a guard who makes the simple play, guards hard, and earns another look because coaches trust him.
Scoring 10 points is easier. Finding a lane on a good team is the harder job. Sellers has an opening, and he needs to make the Knicks feel the cost of closing it.
