CINCINNATI (WKRC) — The National Weather Service has confirmed three tornadoes touched down across the Tri-State during Tuesday's severe storms, including an EF1 tornado in Clermont County and an EF0 tornado in Brown County.
The strongest confirmed tornado struck Pierce Township in Clermont County. The NWS rated it EF1, with estimated peak winds of 90 mph. The tornado carved a path just under 5 miles long and about 250 yards wide.
Survey crews said the first damage was found at Pierce Reserve & Trails on Pond Run Road before the tornado strengthened and continued southeast across Mott Road. Additional damage was documented along Fagins Run Road, Wilson Dunham Hill Road, Ohio 132, Wildfire Way and New Richmond Nicholsville Road.
The NWS also confirmed an EF0 tornado east of Feesburg in Brown County. That tornado produced estimated peak winds of 75 mph and traveled 1.7 miles with a path about 90 feet wide. Damage was reported along State Route 505, Day Road, Eden Road and Daugherty Marks Road.
A third tornado was confirmed in Owen County, Kentucky, based on video and radar evidence. NWS survey teams continue to assess damage there and in neighboring counties. Its rating, wind speeds and path have not yet been determined.
Tornado warnings were issued Tuesday for Clermont, Brown and Adams counties in Ohio and Owen, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant and Pendleton counties in Kentucky.
Despite widespread tree damage and property damage, officials said there have been no reports of serious injuries.
