Kylie, an aspiring vlogger on TikTok, recently shared the surprising reaction their family cat has had when confronted with their new newborn's cries. Instead of being afraid or aggressive, this sweet mama is ready to step in and help.
Unfortunately, she can't, but the effort is not going unnoticed!
Every time her new baby cries, her mama kitty seemingly attempts to give the little bundle of joy some milk. Commenters on TikTok chimed in with:

Do Cats Really Sense a Baby's Needs?
There is no scientific evidence to suggest that a cat can necessarily know what a human baby needs. However, cats are highly perceptive and very aware of environmental changes, so something like a baby would absolutely be on their radar.
Cats are attune to things like hormonal changes, new scents and smells, and changes to their spaces. Something like a new baby is inherently going to shake things up, making a cat very aware that things are about to be different.
Like most other pets, cats are also very locked into routine. So when something is very different, they're going to notice and adapt accordingly. Cats are absolutely creatures of habit, so a big change in their habits is going to make an impression on them.
For a lot of cats, they're also protectors of their family. A new baby is indisputably vulnerable and will likely invoke that kind of guardian behavior in the family cat.
All in all, cats are likely going to always be very aware and observant when it comes to adding a new tiny family member to the bunch. But luckily, with patience and supervision, they'll also likely be the best of pals in no time.
