I don't know who needs to hear this today, but dogs are just ... too good for us.
Every time I think I've seen the sweetest thing a dog could possibly do, another video comes along that completely raises the bar. This one, starring Winnie the Labrador Retriever, honestly has to be one of the cutest videos I've ever watched.
The heartwarming clip was shared by @winnietheelabrador, and the caption reads, "My dog feeds her 'baby' breakfast every morning."
And that's exactly what Winnie does.
She carefully carries her beloved stuffed black puppy over to her food bowl and gently places it inside so her "baby" can eat first. There's no roughhousing. No tossing it across the room. Just the sweetest little act of care from a dog who clearly loves her toy with her whole heart.

If anyone tells me she doesn't believe that's her baby ...

The comments were overflowing with stories from other dog parents whose pups do remarkably similar things:
- "My lab spits food out on the ground in front of the cat to share."
- "My male lab does this and gives them water. Sometimes he even does this with two or three at a time. He has his emotional support toys and he takes care of them. He's a good boy."
- "This is so cute it's making me emotional."
- "I've never seen anything cuter in my whole life."
- "My dog has a fish toy and we constantly find it in her water bowl almost like she knows it needs water."
- "Our German shepherd does this. And then ducks 'Davey the Dino' in the water dish. Afterwards he takes him outside with him to sun bathe."
- "Winnie is such a good mama to her baby!"
I completely understand why people were getting emotional.
There's something incredibly touching about the way dogs can form such deep attachments to their favorite toys. Whether they see them as babies, best friends, or simply treasured companions, the love they show feels completely genuine.
Why are dogs so sweet? They don't have to be. They could spend their mornings demanding breakfast, stealing socks, and pretending not to hear us when we call them.
Instead, Winnie wakes up and makes sure her baby gets fed first.
If that doesn't restore your faith in the world, I'm not sure what will.
