Philadelphia Eagles fans have been known to act on emotions more quickly before knowing how they actually feel. Really shocker, right?
Many within the fan base were frustrated with the disappointing 2025 season that ended in an early playoff exit after winning the Super Bowl just a year prior. Most fan bases gave Eagles fans ugly looks for complaining about going 11-6 and winning the NFC East, which raises the question of whether Philly fans should appreciate what has happened over the last five years under Nick Sirianni as head coach. If they asked Sirianni about being appreciated, he wouldn't care.
"I can’t control what anybody thinks or feels … and that’s OK," Sirianni said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "If even a second of my time is being worried about, ‘Hey, I wish they appreciated this more,’ well, then I just lost a little bit of time that I could be doing something else that really matters.”
“I think there’s this growth in finding yourself through the journey that you’ve gone through to get to a point where, like, ‘Yeah, should we be appreciated more?’ Who gives a … We’ve done a good job, and we want to continue to do a good job.”
Should Eagles fans appreciate the last five years more often?
Sirianni has created a standard of winning that Eagles fans quite bluntly have been spoiled with. That's because since 2021, the Eagles have the second most wins in the NFL with 59. They are just one win behind the Buffalo Bills with 60.
This is a Philly team that has had a ton of success over the span of Sirianni's tenure. The Eagles have made the playoffs each year, been to the Super Bowl twice, and brought the Lombardi Trophy to Broad Street once.
Not many teams can say they have had that kind of success in that span. Even with all the drama the Eagles fans have to deal with year in and year out, they are blessed to have a franchise that is so great.
A lot of the heavy lifting is done by general manager Howie Roseman constructing masterpieces every year in free agency and the draft. Roseman has brought in some great talent over the last five years, like Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Zack Baun, Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Jordan Davis, and many more.
The most important piece to that, though, is Sirianni and his ability to keep the team together through all the good times and the bad. He's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but he has done a great job of handling things better than anyone else has in Philly sports history.

Hopefully, Eagles fans will appreciate the great times over the last five years because eventually, the dark days will come, and they will want it back. Until then, though, fans in Philly should enjoy this moment.
