Kyle Van Noy is nearing his 13th NFL season. Over his career, the two-time Super Bowl champion has recorded 57 sacks, 561 tackles, 102 quarterback hits, four interceptions, 14 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries, and three defensive touchdowns.
That made little wonder that a top NFL analyst is pushing the veteran’s resume towards the San Francisco 49ers. Here’s why the said analyst feels the move makes sense.
Why NFL Analyst Pushes Kyle Van Noy’s Resume to the San Francisco 49ers
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox recently identified the top NFL free agents still available, including Van Noy, and suggested ideal landing spots for each player. For Van Noy, he found the 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings as the best fits.
“San Francisco would be a sensible fit for Van Noy, given the fact that Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams are both returning from injuries.”
Meanwhile, the 49ers keep facing questions about their pass rush ahead of the 2026 season. Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams are recovering from ACL injuries, while veteran Bryce Huff has hung his cleats in retirement. That said, they also drafted experienced defensive linesman Romello Height. However, many believe the side needs yet another veteran.
Van Noy, meanwhile, remains productive. He recorded 12.5 sacks with the Ravens in 2024 and has totaled 23.5 sacks and 54 quarterback pressures during his three seasons in Baltimore. Interestingly, the legendary edge rusher has clarified that he would welcome any chance to play for the 49ers.
Earlier this offseason, during an feature on the Up & Adams show, Van Noy hailed the 49ers and identified them as one of his preferred destinations for the 2026 season. However, it remains uncertain whether the 49ers remain interested in signing the veteran defender.
The 2014 NFL second round draft pick by the Detroit Lions has played for five NFL teams over 12 seasons, including the New England Patriots, where he won Super Bowl LI and Super Bowl LIII. He’s earned a finalist position for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award in consecutive seasons (2024, 2025), and will no doubt prove helpful to any NFL side, including the 49ers.
