Netflix recently debuted all ten episodes of the sports comedy series The Hawk, and it was immediately met with negative reviews by the majority of the critics. However, audiences have turned out to have a much better opinion overall in comparison, making the Netflix Original very divisive.
On Rotten Tomatoes, approved critics have given The Hawk an approval rating of a measly 30%. The audience score is more than two times higher, currently sitting at 68%. While critics lambasted the show for its humor, with many claiming it just wasn't very funny despite starring a comedy icon like Will Ferrell, the viewers sharing audience reviews are arguing that it's much better than it's getting credit for.
In any case, with such divisive opinions, this may be a series that Netflix users should watch for themselves to see what they think of it.

Will Ferrell Co-Created and Stars in The Hawk
Ferrell co-created The Hawk with Harper Steele and Chris Henchy. It reunites him with Molly Shannon, with whom he used to work with on Saturday Night Live. The show also stars Jimmy Tatro (Home Economics), Fortune Feimster (FUBAR), Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty), Katelyn Tarver (Big Time Rush), David Hornsby (The Joe Schmo Show), Luke Wilson (Stargirl), Gabriel Hogan (Condor), Aida Osman (Rap Sh!t), and Keith David (They Live).
In the series, Ferrell plays Lonnie "The Hawk" Hawkins, a washed-up golf superstar who's many years past his prime as one of the top-ranked golfers in the world. He sets out on a mission to return to the sport in order to win the U.S. Open, which would finally see him complete the Career Grand Slam. Standing in his way is his longtime rival, Golden Fisk (Wilson), along with a complicated relationship with his ex-wife, Stacy (Shannon).
