One of the longest and most underrated action movie franchises of all time returns for its 12th installment, which is now all set to land on Netflix in the United States after already shooting up the global streaming ranks. The popular platform has become well-renowned for its reliably explosive action efforts, with the latest outing in the 33-year-old franchise sure to become another sleeper hit in the U.S. when it lands later this month.
Locking and loading for the first time more than three decades ago, 1993’s action war thriller Sniper stars Tom Berenger and Billy Zane and follows the former Berenger as veteran American sniper Thomas Beckett who takes the latter under his wing as they embark on an assassination mission in Panama. In the time since, the Sniper franchise has exploded, spawning multiple sequels, with Berenger returning for Sniper 2 in 2002 and Sniper 3 in 2004, before Chad Michael Collins took over to lead the series in 2011’s Sniper: Reloaded as Brandon Beckett, Thomas’ son.

Following the release of the 11th installment, Sniper: The Last Stand, which also found success on Netflix when it hit last year, Sniper: No Nation brings not only Chad Michael Collins back for more gloriously no-nonsense action thrills, but legacy hero Tom Berenger as well, with the pair being forced back together again as Brandon turns to his off-the-grid father after he and his team are forced to go on the run.
Hunted by the very country he served, ace sniper Brandon Beckett goes AWOL, only to learn that his last remaining allies have been decimated by mercenaries. With fellow soldiers imprisoned and scheduled for public execution, Brandon reunites with his legendary father and a handful of rebels for a seemingly impossible rescue mission.
Trevor Calverley directs this time around, with the sequel bringing back several familiar faces from the franchise, including Chad Michael Collins as Brandon Beckett, Tom Berenger as Thomas Beckett, and Ryan Robbins as Agent Zero, with the rest of the cast comprised of Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, and Josh Brener. Sniper: No Nation is now climbing the global Netflix charts, where it's currently ranked #5 in the top 10, and will make its debut on Netflix in the United States on July 22. No doubt, thanks to the unashamed throwback action thrills on display, Sniper: No Nation will quickly shoot up the charts there too.

The return of Berenger, alongside the team fighting against the system they once fought for, is sure to appeal to action fans and placate all of us while we await the inevitable announcement of Sniper 13.
