Despite being yet another divisive adaptation of the author's best-selling work, with readers and critics maintaining the novel is superior, audiences have praised its relentless twists, making it difficult to stop watching. As a result, the series has drawn staggering viewership, amassing more than 1.8 billion minutes viewed, making it Netflix's biggest streaming success of the year and currently the most-watched series in the world. With numbers like these, it's no surprise that Netflix is already fast-tracking its next Coben adaptation.
Netflix recently greenlit Myron Bolitar (though this may still be a working title), an adaptation of Harlan Coben's long-running Myron Bolitar book series beginning with Drop Shot (the second book in the series). Just two weeks after the announcement, the project has already shifted into high gear with a wave of new cast additions. The series follows its titular protagonist, whose NBA dreams are cut short by a career-ending injury, leading him to reinvent himself as a sports agent. Using his charm, quick wit, and the help of a ruthless business partner, Bolitar navigates the high-stakes, morally murky world of professional sports, where protecting his clients often means putting himself in danger. Netflix previously revealed Colin Woodell (The Continental) will lead the cast alongside KJ Apa and Diane Guerrero.
The latest casting announcement introduces several notable additions, including Saturday Night Live darling Chloe Fineman, who recently departed the NBC sketch series after seven seasons. In her first major live-action narrative television role, Fineman will play Parker Quinn, an accomplished sports reporter whose reputation has been built on years of hard work and a deep passion for the industry. Joining her is Bel-Air star Jabari Banks as Dwayne Richmond, a charismatic tennis phenom widely tipped to become one of the world's top players and the biggest client at MB Sports. Jamie McShane (Task) has also been cast as veteran NYPD homicide detective Ray Dimonte, while Ben McKenzie (Gotham) will recur as Gavin Pierce, a powerful sports agent whose complicated history with Myron has turned the two into fierce rivals.

An impressive lineup of industry veterans backs Coben's next Netflix adaptation. David E. Kelley and Kyle Long are set to write the series while serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. Kelley is best known for creating acclaimed hits such as Apple TV's Margo’s Got Money Troubles and HBO's Big Little Lies, while Long previously worked on the USA Network's beloved legal drama Suits. Coben will once again serve as an executive producer alongside Matthew Tinker, Kelley's longtime business partner. Greg Yaitanes, whose credits include Apple TV's Presumed Innocent and HBO's House of the Dragon, has been tapped to direct multiple episodes.
