A national steakhouse chain is making its way into Wyandotte County soon.
Texas Roadhouse is planning on building a location just outside of Tanger Kansas City at Legends at 1300 N. 98th St., according to a Wyandotte County planning board of commissioners meeting last month.
In the June 8 meeting, Texas Roadhouse had its final plan review with the city to change the zoning from A-G Agriculture District to CP -2 Planned General Business District for the fast casual restaurant.
Texas Roadhouse was started in 1993 by Kent Taylor in Clarksville, Indiana. The nationwide chain, famous for its hand-cut steaks, ribs, sides and fresh bread, has over 700 locations across 49 states, and 40 locations around the world, according to its website.
The opening in Wyandotte County will mark the eighth Texas Roadhouses in the KC area. Other locations include Kansas City, Overland Park, Liberty, Lee’s Summit, Olathe, Blue Springs and Belton.
A timeline for the construction and expected opening date have not been released.
