Country music fans are in for a boot-scootin’ treat as Nathan Carter heads up a star-studded line-up for a two-day festival in the heart of Dublin later this summer.
The Irish country favourite will top the bill at Dublin City Council’s Ceol Country festival, which returns to Merrion Square Park on August 29 and 30 with a packed programme of live music and family entertainment.
Nathan will headline Saturday’s line-up, sharing the stage across the weekend with a host of well-known names including Robert Mizzell, Jimmy Buckley, Claudia Buckley, Cliona Hagan, Sandy Kelly, Declan Nerney, The Highway Men, Effie O’Neill, Jack Keogh and Clodagh Lawlor.
Sunday will have an international flavour as rising Nashville performer Braden Hull makes his Dublin debut, joined by Clodagh Lawlor, The Ryan Turner Band and The Conquerors.
The festival promises to blend the best of Irish and American country traditions, with live performances, dancing, family-friendly activities and plenty of US-inspired food and drink on offer throughout the weekend.
Organisers are expecting thousands of fans to descend on the city centre as the event coincides with the popular American college football weekend in Dublin.
Encouraging people to get involved, Dublin’s Lord Mayor Daryl Barron said the festival has grown into one of the capital’s most popular annual events and urged fans to dust off their cowboy boots and Stetsons for a weekend of country fun.
Best of all, tickets won’t break the bank, with admission priced at just €5 when they go on sale from 10 am on Friday, July 24.
